With some beautiful sunny days, the grass just starting to sprout, and the overall energy of the CSU campus warming up there are some amazing events to enjoy on our beautiful campus.

1.  Japanese Film Night: Throne of Blood

Returning to their lord’s castle, samurai warriors Washizu and Miki are waylaid by a spirit who predicts their futures. When the first part of the spirit’s prophecy comes true, Washizu’s scheming wife, Asaji, presses him to speed up the rest of the spirit’s prophecy by murdering his lord and usurping his place.

Throne of blood is a 1957 black and white film directed by Akira Kurosawa, the greatest screen adaptation of Shakespeare’s Macbeth. It is in Japanese with English subtitles. Featuring some of Kurosawa’s most unforgettable, hallucinatory imagery, inspired by Noh theater as much as the classical source, this is Kurosawa at his atmospheric best.
